The Australian War Memorial has official records which consist of approximately 23,000 names of Australian Military Forces prisoners of war and missing service personnel for the far east and south west pacific islands.  These records cover the Second World War period up to June 1944.

Family History Researchers should go to the Australian War Memorial Canberra Website to seek further information or to obtain documentation for their forebears war service.
